I'm absolutely tickled to announce the launch of the Saddled with Murder audiobook, narrated by Karen Cass!

This audiobook production is a dream come true for me. When the e-book and paperback were first published on New Year's Eve 2024, I didn't quite know what to expect. I thought I might get some modest sales, and I kept my fingers crossed for a few positive reviews. At that point, I assumed the audiobook was years away, since I knew it would be a significant investment. I needed my little book to prove itself and "earn its keep" before I could justify the audiobook version.

By February, Saddled with Murder had unexpectedly taken off. By March, it was hitting the charts on Amazon, ranking higher in its categories than I had ever dared to hope. Reviews came flooding in, as well as plenty of messages from fans (I was floored that Bertie & Harriet actually had fans). These lovely people were asking two questions: "When is Book 2 coming out?," and "When is the Book 1 audiobook coming out?"

Since I couldn't magically speed up the process of writing Book 2 (I'm no Stephen King), I decided to make the audiobook happen. But as an avid audiobook fan for over 30 years (yes, I still own audiobooks on cassette tapes), I knew I couldn't settle for just any narrator.

I knew only Karen Cass would do.

When I first heard Karen Cass's brilliant narration of author Josephine Tey's novels sometime in the 1990's, I fell in love with her voice, and through the years she has remained my ideal narrator. But I figured she would be out of my reach. She has a slew of impressive acting and narrating credits, even doing some past projects for the BBC, and I couldn't find a way to contact her. Finally, I tracked down an audiobook production company that works directly with her, and she agreed to narrate Saddled with Murder!

The finished product is absolutely a dream come true. Karen Cass managed to exceed my expectations, voicing all of the characters exactly as I imagined them. She even tackled a bit of West Country accent for Fletcher, Tom, and the farrier! I'm incredibly pleased with this audiobook, and I hope you will be too!
